Tasting Note

This expressive Chardonnay, grown on limestone soils from 30-year-old vines, offers a harmonious blend of power and finesse. Aged 12 months on fine lees in used Burgundy barrels, it reveals a light golden hue with green highlights. The nose is delicate and aromatic, with notes of white flowers, fresh fruit, orange blossom, honey, and hazelnut. On the palate, it is fresh, lively, and well-balanced, with a slightly buttery finish that adds depth without heaviness.

While delightful in its youth, it promises to evolve gracefully, developing richer notes of honey and hazelnut over time.

Henri Jacqueson created the company in 1946 using a few plots of land belonging to his ancestors that had not been planted with vines. Being a real visionary, Henri started to propose his wine to clients whilst promoting the relatively unknown appellation of Rully at the same time. With a lot of determination and persistence he managed to expand his domain, buying different parcels and contributing at the same time to the development of the appellation.

Today, the Domaine consists of 13 hectares that are mainly situated in Rully as well as in Mercurey and Bouzeron. The Domain produces 60% of white wines and 40% of red wines.
