Chateau Rigaud is located at the extreme southwest of the Puisseguin Saint-Emilion appellation, very close to the communes of Montagne and Saint-Emilion. The soils are clayey and the subsoil is composed of limestone. Chateau Rigaud belongs to Pierre Taix, also owner of Chateau Fongaban, between the appellations Castillon and Puisseguin. The estate was founded in 1848 by Pierre's ancestor, Mr. Gaston Mauleon, from one of the oldest families on the Right bank. In 1976, Pierre's mother inherited the estate. She then handed over the management to her son Pierre in 2004. He has converted the estate into organic farming to live in harmony with nature since 2007.
