A well-known grand cru in Saint-Emilion, Château Roylland is located just outside of the medieval city and its famous bell tower, next to some of the most prestigious estates in the region. The historical and old property of Château Roylland dates back to the era of Eleanor of Aquitaine. In July 2010, Martine and Jean-Bernard Chambard became the new owners of the estate. They hence built new cellars, new facilities and a brand new tasting room. The 5 hectare property is now planted with 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc on limestone clay soils.
